In 2006 and 2007 AGNR Senior Extension Agent Dale Johnson trained 12 Turkish extension agents in  improving their skills in educating farmers.

HasNa, Inc., a U.S. non-governmental association, asked AGNR to conduct the training.

The goal if the workshop was for extension agents to develop necessary to learn about the farmer’s operation, offer technical assessment, and teach farmers how to solve their own problems during on-farm visits.

They also learned how to plan effective farmer field days.  Farmer field days require the selecTurkey1tion of the appropriate farm to visit, identification of topics to discuss, and appropriate use of on-farm resources to facilitate the educational program.
